o.k. so I realize that I haven't written in a while, but I've been busy. So, here's what's been going on.
Graphic design has been great, I've really been pumping out stuff that I like a lot (I'll try to post some things on here.) I've been learning a lot in class, and I've starting to feel like I'll be able to make it in the design world! This class is one of the main reasons that I've been so busy though.
Halo 3- yeah we have it on two xbox 360's at the house and it's a game that is constantly played almost 24/ 7 at the house. It's a lot of fun, and if you haven't played it yet, you should (if you call we might let you play on our system.)
Flag football has been intense, last night we started the playoffs. The first game was against "Lambda Chi", and we dominated 34- 0. This game was a lot of fun.
Then we took on "The Posse" and we played the most intense game of the season, back and forth the whole time. There was like a minute left in the second half and we were down 13- 12. Somehow Joe ended up tipping the ball and Nick intercepted it, giving us one last chance to score and we did. Then Palmore intercepted another pass, GAME OVER.
So, now we play Thursday 10/11 at 9pm and if we win the first game we will play again at 10pm. I'm telling you this because if you're not doing anything, come out and see us play.
-let me know what you think about these.

hey dude-
just happened upon this blog via facebook today.
my thoughts on these posters:
-outlined type is usually a bad move
-push the photography a little in photoshop, deep colors and strong contrast are important
-hierarchy. this is something i still have to remind myself of. especially on a poster, something should be HUGE, so that your eye snaps to it immediately.
-don't let yourself get away with such simple font choices... there are so many out there, and that easy sans serif has no voice to it. the letterforms you choose should have a 'color' to them. there are sans serifs with plenty of voice.
-go extreme, then work backwards. from the start of the process, go huge, go tiny, blow out the colors, do crazy things... then come back from it. my biggest critique of these is how 'safe' they are, when they should be more loud or aggressive. don't let yourself print bland work.
you've got skillz, dude. just remember that you're the only one that can push you, and the crits at uab aren't going to help much.
see you on the battleground.
